We have a gas golf cart (Club Car) and have just put in a new battery. We had to recharge the battery . Why?
We only use the cart on the weekend and turn the key off when not running. What type of alternator does the cart have?

it has a generator/ starter unit but if the belt is loose it will not charge properly
It is one of three things. A bad battery cable is not allowing the battery to charge.
A bad voltage regulator is causing the battery not to charge.
The alternator / generator has failed.
The alternator is specific to the Club Car. You just can’t cobble an alternator from something else and expect it to work correctly.
