West Deer course revived after death, bankruptcy
It was not as though Ed Haddad and his son-in-law wanted to lay off all of their employees and shut down operation of the Pittsburgh National Golf Club after last season. Actually, they really didn’t know what else to do. They lost their all the drive, energy and motivation when Haddad’s daughter, Mary Beth Eckberg, died from leukemia in September. Mary Beth was 46.
